Tractor Donation Initiative Supports Agricultural Mechanisation in Tanzania
Morogoro, 26 July 2026 – TATDC participated in a tractor donation ceremony aimed at supporting agricultural mechanisation and improving access to productive farm equipment for smallholder farmers in Tanzania.
The ceremony, held at the TATDC facility in Mvomero District, Morogoro Region, was graced by the Hon. Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Mr. Anthony Mavunde, together with the Morogoro Regional Administrative Secretary, Mr. Charles Mlingwa, and representatives from the Ministry of Livestock and Fisheries.
Under the initiative, two Changfa CFE754-H 75HP tractors equipped with 3-blade disc ploughs and 1.5-metre rotary tillers were donated to the Mvomero District Agricultural Development Programme. The equipment will support land preparation, planting and transport operations for cooperative farmers in the Wami Sokoine area.
During the ceremony, stakeholders highlighted that effective mechanisation requires more than the delivery of machinery. Proper operator training, daily inspection, preventive maintenance, responsible equipment management and access to suitable spare parts are essential for long-term performance.
TATDC supported the initiative through equipment supply, technical coordination and pre-delivery inspection. The company also committed to providing operator training and the first scheduled maintenance service free of charge for the donated equipment.
Mr. Juma Kimaro, Chairman of the Mvomero Farmers Cooperative, expressed appreciation on behalf of the beneficiary farmers, noting that the tractors would significantly reduce the time and cost of land preparation for the upcoming planting season.
TATDC remains committed to working with government institutions, farmer organisations and development partners on practical agricultural machinery solutions that support food security and rural economic development.
